If you can’t tell by the title of this blog, I am VERY excited by the news that The Mortal Instruments: Shadowhunters is being made into a TV show. The Mortal Instruments series is by Cassandra Clare and I have talked about how it is my favorite post in many of my previous posts. City of Bones (the first book in the series) was originally made into a movie. I watched the movie and liked it! However, it did not do amazingly in the box office so they decided to re-vamp it as a TV show.
ABC Family recently announced that they would be undertaking the project. So far the only things that have really been released about the project is that casting will be going underway very soon and that Ed Decter, creator of Helix, Unforgettable, and The Client List will be executive producer. I am excited for more news to come and for the show to be underway!
The idea of my favorite series becoming a TV show is pretty amazing. A TV series will allow for more detail to go into the story unlike the limited time that a movie has. It is a common thing for a book series to be made into a TV series. I just hope that the series is more successful than the movie was. Either way I will be supportive of it all!
